Voters turn down wind energy development

After residents and officials spent several years debating whether or not wind turbines are good for the county, voters turned down additional development in Sherman, Sigel, Sand Beach, Lincoln, Dwight and Bloomfield townships in May. The referendums for wind energy overlay zones proposed by NextEra Energy Resources and DTE Energy failed in county-zoned municipalities by a 2 to 1 margin.

Environmental activists have withdrawn an advertising campaign after being accused of making false claims about the price of wind energy. The poster ...claimed the price of wind farming had dropped by 50 per cent over two years. Following a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority, Greenpeace and a coalition of other environmental groups agreed not to use them again

With bankruptcy, Black Oak Wind Farm officially dead

Corporation Commission chooses to ‘do nothing’ on Wind Catcher appeal

“We just hate the position that we are in. We hate that this project was commenced. Falmouth official orders plan to dismantle wind turbine

Nonprofit group pushes to keep Falmouth turbines spinning

The Green Center plans to ask the Massachusetts Appeals Court to review the a judge’s decision to keep Falmouth’s two wind turbines permanently shut down. Wind farm cables being monitored

Professor John King, from the University of Rhode Island's School of Oceanography, and his crew, performed Electromagnetic Field cable readings at the Town Beach on Monday, Dec. 18. The device they are dragging along the sand is called the SEMLA, which is an acronym for Swedish Electromagnetic Low-noise Apparatus, as it was created by Swedish engineer Peter Sigray.
