Construction work has ground to a halt at a Lambton County wind farm following a worker being seriously injured on site Tuesday night.
A woman crashed her car at the bottom of a wind turbine outside Helix, and an emergency helicopter rushed her to a hospital. But plenty of questions remain about the crash and the victim.
“We were called out at 2.38 to Flower Scar Road near Todmorden. “A man had fallen inside the turbine. Police, fire and ambulance attended. He was taken to Preston hospital for non-life threatening injuries. “The incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).”
The inquiry will take at least two months, it is understood. The two men, aged 19 and 21, died as a result of the fire in the turbine nacelle on 29 October. The developer called the loss a “tragic accident”.

The Mehoopany Wind Farm, operated by BP Wind Energy, is the site of a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of five people Saturday night. It took off from Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott earlier that evening.

Investigators are still searching for answers to an accident which left one man crushed to death under a wind turbine. Engineer Per Terp, 42, from Norresundby, Denmark, died when he was trapped between a crane and part of a wind turbine at Harwich Port.
The technical team, which included 28 members and units from as far away as Onset, arrived a short time later and worked to immobilize the man ...It took crews over an hour to get the man out of the tower so he could be taken to the hospital.
