The number of complaints received for wind farm noise is significantly higher in Omagh and Fermanagh District than any other council area. According to latest statistics from DAERA, there was a total of 13 noise complaints.

PORTLAND — A five-wind-turbine proposal was presented to the Portland Town Board Monday afternoon with activists against the project voicing their concern. Those criticizing the project fear it will have similar impacts as the Arkwright wind project, however, this is the first-ever meeting between the wind turbine company and the town board and nothing was agreed upon.
A Notice of Application for Judicial Review was filed by DDOWT in the Divisional Court in Toronto on Tuesday against the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change alleging the ministry has allowed companies promoting at least five large-scale wind projects to ignore new government guidelines with respect to limiting the amount of noise any residence in the area should have to tolerate.

A new substation will be built covering a maximum of 25 acres with another 25 acres needed for the construction area. The building for it could be at least 19 metres high.
Wind farms have become more noticeable in Central Illinois over the years. Some who live in view of the towers are annoyed -- they say they're interfering with basic utilities.
“If someone got a judgment that windmills contributed to some adverse health effects people suffered, I would think that would be a pretty significant ruling,” said Ross Hammersley, a Traverse City attorney with Olson, Bzdok & Howard who specializes in environmental and real estate law. An employee complaint alleging exposure to chemicals and inadequate protective equipment has sparked a new OSHA investigation at TPI Composites, a wind blade manufacturer in Newton. Iowa Labor Commissioner Michael Mauro said OSHA inspectors have been inside the plant in recent days. The agency, which he oversees, has received at least one OSHA complaint since a Dec. 17 Des Moines Register investigation explored the working conditions at TPI.

The application was being sought to allow construction on the 34-wind turbine project in the former Chatham Township area to occur all night as well as on Sundays and holidays from Dec. 1 to March 31, 2018. ...Chatham-Kent's director of building services Paul Lacina said the request was denied to due to objections received from the public and inconsistency with the principles established by council within the bylaw.
I live with the people who are adversely affected by industrial wind turbines and deeply regret having signed the documents enabling the construction of the wind farm. This is why I am sharing my experience ... so that you will not have to regret being a part of facilitating something that is a "windfall" to a few, but a curse to many.
Counterpoint: The negative impacts of turbines have generated significant opposition.
“I want the minister to understand why communities are so troubled by the effect of wind turbines on their water,” said McNaughton. “Wells that have produced clean, clear water for decades have begun producing dirty brown, unpotable water since construction of turbines for the North Kent I wind project began.”
The Ruhwarders are protesting against the wind farm. They know that it is long past due to protest but hope that the situation can at least be improved. Ruhwarder citizens believe theor lives have been degraded since the new wind farm in Düke was placed in service. The operator is open to discussions - and promises to improve.
Hawkesdale farmer Paul Lewis says noise from Macarthur wind farm, five kilometres from his home, wakes him up at night. ...“No one can do anything to really address the problems with existing wind farms. Moyne (shire council) have wiped their hands of it and don’t take responsibility, and the State Government isn’t doing anything,” Mr Lewis said.

“All I have asked for is for them to do the repairs,” Francis Candiloro said Saturday, referring to chimney, window and other damage he attributes to blasting between October 2016 and May. He said representatives for the developer, Avangrid Renewables, told him the damage was unrelated to the work.
