Many of you may already be aware that the founders of Windaction.org have launched the Wildlife, Energy & Community Coalition (WECC).

WHAT IS WECC? WECC is an alliance of grassroots environmental and community organizations, scientists, and conservationists working to protect communities and wildlife threatened by irresponsible energy development – specifically industrial renewable energy projects.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND US? We’re on the web at www.wecprotect.org or you can like us on Facebook here. Our Frequently Asked Questions page provides more detail on what WECC is and what we're looking to accomplish.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER OF WECC? Anyone who is working to stop industrial renewable energy projects and supports others who are doing the same is invited to be a member of WECC. To be a member, we ask that you align with Our Mission and agree to help other WECC members in their efforts. You can meet many of our current WECC members by visiting our members’ page. Unfortunately, we’re so busy keeping up with the high interest that our members’ page is a little out-of-date but we’re working as fast as we can to get everyone listed. If you're a member and do not see your name on the members' page please check back again soon or contact us at energywildlife@gmail.com

HOW TO JOIN THE MOVEMENT? It’s easy to join. Just visit this page, complete our form, and we’ll do the rest!.

As members you will benefit by direct and easy access to other WECC members via SLACK. You'll also be invited to our monthly WECC ZOOM calls with featured speakers. Our WECC team is ready to assist all of our members in producing Stand Together! events aimed at highlighting issues in your community or region. Check out our recent Stand Together: Maryland! virtual event where we discuss Maryland's aggressive in-state solar mandate and the risks to Maryland's prime farmland, open space and forested areas. Other Stand Together! events in the works focus on offshore wind and threats to local control in Indiana, New York State and elsewhere.

IS WECC SEPARATE FROM WINDACTION? Yes. WECC is a membership coalition that proactively engages with communities and the media on large-scale renewable energy developments. Windaction.org remains a policy-oriented research resource with its expansive (and expanding) repository of news stories, documents, and media library. The missions of WECC and Windaction may differ but they share a core objective, to help others protect their communities and the natural environment around us from industrial-scale renewables.

PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING WECC! IT’S TIME TO UNITE AS ONE VOICE!
