Buckeye Wind I and II withdrawal notices

Buckeye Wind LLC and Champaign Wind LLC, who collectively sought and received approval to construct the Buckeye I and Buckeye II wind energy facilities, have now withdrawn their applications and surrendered their certificates of environmental compatibility and public need. The notices of withdrawal are available at the document links on this page. 

Buckeye Wind LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EverPower Wind Holdings, Inc. (Everpower), has received a certificate to construct a up to 52 wind turbines to be located in Goshen, Rush, Salem, Union, Urbana, and Wayne Townships in Champaign County, Ohio. The original application for a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need was filed on April 24, 2009. The Ohio Power Siting Board (the “Board” or “OPSB”) issued an Opinion, Order and Certificate in Case No. 08-0666-EL-BGN on March 22, 2010 (the “Buckeye I Certificate”). In Case No. 12-0160-EL-BGN, Champaign Wind LLC, another wholly-owned subsidiary of EverPower, received a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need to construct a separate wind-powered facility (the “Buckeye II Certificate”). The original application for a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need was filed on May 15, 2012 and the Buckeye II Certificate was issued May 28, 2013, Buckeye II consisted of 56 wind turbines also located in Goshen, Rush, Salem, Union, Urbana, and Wayne Townships in Champaign County. Everpower was eventually purchased by Germany-based Inogy.
