Queen Anne's County letter regarding APEX Mills Branch wind proposal

This letter, sent to the Kent County, Maryland County Commissioners, captures the position of the Queen Anne's County Commissioners regarding APEX's Mills Branch wind energy proposal. The letter is provided below in full. It can also be accessed by clicking the links on this page.

The Queen Anne's County Commissioners are writing to support the Kent County Commissioners position in opposition to the Apex Wind Turbine Project known as Mills Branch Wind. There are substantial concerns relating
to the size, scope and location of the project and the potential impacts.

The Queen Anne's County Commissioners believe that a project covering such a large portion of a rural county will result in significant impacts to the rural landscape of Kent County and Maryland's Eastern Shore. Further, if a project as proposed could move forward in Kent County it is likely that other rural counties, such as Queen Anne's County will see similar undesirable proposals in the near future.

The Queen Anne's County Commissioners will monitor this project very closely. If this project moves forward to the Public Service Commission to pursue a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity the Queen Anne's
County Commissioners are ready to participate in the process making our concerns known. The Commissioners clearly believe that Kent County and Maryland's Eastern Shore is not an appropriate location for a large power
generation project.

We support the Kent County Commissioners in opposing this offensive and unwanted project on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Please let us know how we may assist in protecting your rural landscape.

Respectfully,

THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY
