LOWELL – Two of the 21 wind turbines at the Lowell wind project in Vermont are being worked on after they were struck by lightning recently.

Kristin Carlson of Green Mountain Power tells the Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/1kUN7ix) the turbines had blade damage from the lightning, which was noticed last week.

Lightning strikes happened during thunderstorms that swept through Vermont over the past two weeks.

The wind project is the largest in Vermont. It went online in December 2012.
