A petition was circulated to homes and Mayor Arnaud Adam received the results a few weeks ago. A total of 230 signatories have stated their opposition to the project. To go further in understanding the will of the people, the municipal council decided to organize a referendum. Recourse is quite rare but possible. The vote was held on Sunday 18 September. Of the 478 voters in the municipality, 207 voted.

As part of a project to install wind turbines, the population of Thil-Manneville (Seine-Maritime) had to vote on Sunday 18 September. In the end, there will be no wind farm.

The RWE company plans to install several wind turbines in the municipalities of Auppegard and Thil-Manneville (Seine-Maritime) . This is not a common project for the two villages and the municipality of Thil-Manneville wishes above all to keep its independence on the file.

The wind project has also caused anger in the community. An anti-wind alliance was formed in response and approached the Libre Horizon association of Bacqueville-en-Caux for its support.

Against the installation of wind turbines

A petition was circulated to homes and Mayor Arnaud Adam received the results a few weeks ago. A total of 230 signatories have stated their opposition to the project. To go further in understanding the will of the people, the municipal council decided to organize a referendum.

Recourse is quite rare but possible. The vote was held on Sunday 18 September. Of the 478 voters in the municipality, 207 voted.

The question they were asked was “Are you for or against the project to install wind turbines? " Result of the vote: 173 voted against and 28 for and the rest voted blank or null.

The municipal council will meet soon to assess the situation and discuss the issue. Will the elected officials follow the opinion of the majority? For the time being, the mayor wishes to give free rein to democracy and will not express an opinion on the issue.

“Above all," he said, "we wanted to consult the population. Within the municipal council, everyone will also express themselves and we will take all this into account."
