A turbine at a wind farm in north-eastern Brazil collapsed over the weekend, according to energy firm Neoenergia.
The wind turbine – a Siemens Gamesa G90-2.0 model – was located at Neoenergia’s 28MW Arizona I wind farm near the town of Rio do Fogo in Rio Grande do Norte.
The incident occurred at around 12.30pm local time on Sunday (30 January).
The company added that no one had been injured in the incident and that the rest of the wind turbines have continued to operate normally.
It is now investigating the causes of the incident.
Prior to the incident, the wind farm consisted of 14 of Siemens Gamesa’s G90-2.0 turbines.
