According to Northern Review @NorthernOnLine, Klingler Road and part of the “Green Monster” were
temporarily blocked off as crews attempted to put out the blaze.
Witnesses reported winds at 70 mph. Each of the turbines were kept from spinning out of control using the turbine braking systems. It is believed that the turbine that caught fire experienced a failed braking system and the turbine spun rapidly until it ignited.
According to the police report (see below) seven vehicles responded to the fire, including one patrol car and an EMS vehicle. Photos of the burned turbine were taken by Doug DeNoi of Northern Review. The turbine was quickly dismantled and hauled away.
