A wind turbine in Donley County caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

DONLEY COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A wind turbine in Donley County caught fire Wednesday afternoon. 

Officials with Southern Company, which owns the turbine, said it started around 5:30 p.m. at the company's Salt Fork Wind Facility.

They said employees at the plant called first responders, who contained the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Officials said a small area of the plant is offline as a preemptive safety measure while they investigate the cause.
