I didn't realize that the eagle populations had exploded in such a way that we are now required to thin their numbers. Or is there some other benevolent reason for the conservation by elimination?

I have to hand it to President Obama's administration for the ease in which it is allowed to get away with speaking from both sides of the mouth and never seeming to be questioned for it. Case in point, the recent decision regarding the use of wind turbines to produce energy.

Dan Ashe, director of the Fish and Wildlife Service, states that the rule will help spur development of alternative energy and also help in the conservation of golden and bald eagles. Except for the fact that the ruling allows for the deaths or injuring of up to 4,200 of the creatures.
