U.S. annual capacity factors by project and state (2011-2013)

This attached documents show production data from a large sample of wind projects operating in the US, by state, for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. The production numbers were obtained from the Energy Information Administration.

Average annual capacity factors by project, state, and for the entire United States were determined for each project. The spreadsheet has four tabs with the first showing a summary of the three years. Note: EIA changes its sampling of projects by year which is why the lists from one year to the next differ. Each tab in the attached spreadsheet is provided on this page in .pdf format. A composite map of the U.S. with the capacity factors shown is also included.

The summary of the information, by state, is provided below. Total MWs installed includes all projects for which production data is available, including those with less than one-year of production data. Capacity factors were determined based on projects with at least one full year of production ('MW Considered').
