Wind turbine falls from truck; Pueblo Blvd. traffic slows

Cranes and crews worked into the late hours Tuesday to remove a 68-ton wind turbine section that fell onto Pueblo Boulevard. The roadway was closed most of the day between Hollywood Drive and Vinewood Lane.

Cranes and crews worked into the late hours Tuesday to remove a 68-ton wind turbine section that fell onto Pueblo Boulevard.

The roadway was closed most of the day between Hollywood Drive and Vinewood Lane.

No one was injured in the 9:30 a.m. incident.

"These loads (136,000 pounds) are carried very low to the ground and it appears that one end of the tower section struck the pavement, causing it to move. It rolled, with the trailer, to the right and came to rest on the pavement, while still attached to the trailer," a Pueblo police press release said.
