The project calls for five turbines on Spruce Mountain that will connect to the main power grid in the northeast section of town, he said. Construction is planned to begin as soon as possible in the spring.

Friends of Spruce Mountain "have been against the project since the plan surfaced last year and still feel it is not in the best interests of the town," Maxfield said.

The Appeals Board will make a decision on the appeal, either Wednesday night or later, Maxfield said.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Town Office meeting room in Bryant Pond village.
