The idea has been brought up in just about every county in the Stateline. Wednesday night in Ogle County members of the public were invited to come up and voice their opinions to the zoning board of appeals. The room was packed with concerned citizens, so much so that some were forced to listen to testimony from the hallway. Every person that stood up to talk was against the proposed wind farm.
Roughly 50 people attended the hearing. Each person was there to reiterate their concerns, and to send a message that they do not want the nearly 400 ft turbines any where close to their property.
Ogle County citizens fear for the health and safety of their families. They are also frustrated by what they believe to be a lack of information given by Navitas, the company proposing the 40 wind turbines. At times the public had harsh words for the zoning board of appeals as they begged for their questions to be answered
