Southwest Wyo under attack

I have watched wind farms pop up all over southwest and southern Wyoming seemingly overnight. The irony is none of this power belongs to Wyoming. It is all for the good of other states. Why Wyoming? Is it because we are just a bunch of dumb cowboys and this is all our land is good for? A group wants to build a wind farm on top of White Mountain again with no longterm benefit to the people of Wyoming. Are the states that don't want this in their back yard stealing our scenic view and possibly even our wind?

I have been a life-long resident of Wyoming for 47 years and I have never felt our state under attack like it has been during the past year. I live in Green River and it seems southwest Wyoming is especially being targeted.

We have the Million Conservation group trying to take half of the water from the Green River, and cut a pipeline scar across the entire length of Wyoming. They say this is because the Colorado Front Range needs the water! Do their needs really outweigh ours?

Now, another outside group wants to attack us on yet another front. This group wants to build a new power line from Glenrock to somewhere in Idaho. This is a very large power line that again will take from Wyoming and give to another state.

My wife and I had always dreamed of building a little cabin in the forest one day to get away and enjoy our small piece of Wyoming heaven. Two years ago we were able to buy a small piece of property in the Spring Canyon Ranches on Commissary Ridge, northwest of Kemmerer. These are a group of primitive properties with no service and no desire to have service with approximately 50 cabins.

Last summer my family and I built our dream cabin. Well guess where the proposed route for this power line is going to run? Yep, right through the Spring Canyon Ranches! Approximately a quarter-mile from my cabin I have yet to enjoy and right in the middle of the scenic view I was hoping to enjoy.

And where is our governor during all of this? I have not read or heard much from our governor on anything of importance lately. I can't help but feel he is hiding under his desk waiting for his term to be up. I sincerely hope his replacement is more proactive in protecting what we all love most. I challenge the candidates for the governor's office to tell us all where they stand on these issues.
