The Left Party, which supports the minority Social Democrat government in parliament, is also supporting the plan. This includes more than 40 million dollars for in a pilot wind power project. According to Swedish Radio News, under the plan around 12 percent of Sweden’s energy would be provided by renewable sources in ten years.
The Center Party first crossed the political left-right divide in 1997 to reach agreement with government on an energy program.
