DENVER - A House committee unanimously approved a measure that requires county assessors to tax wind farms based on how much income they generate, rather than the equipment they use.


HB1275, introduced by Rep. Wes McKinley, D-Walsh, said the idea was a fairer means of taxing the farms.
 
The measure, which was amended to exempt facilities in Prowers County, heads to the full House
