Dutch Hill UPC Wind Project, tree clearing and land preparation for turbine base
A simulated photo shows what the tallest proposed wind turbines would look like from different distances.
This aerial image shows a portion of the land area where the Maple Ridge wind farm construction was proposed (Lowville, NY). The photography used color-infrared film. Very red and pink coloration denotes "green" vegetation. Imagery was taken when the trees had no leaves.
Future Viewshed from the UPC Project. View looking west-northwest from Kirkwood - Lent Hill Road, Town of Cohocton, NY
This aerial image was taken on July 30, 2006 and shows a portion of the land area following construction of Phase 1 of the Maple Ridge wind energy facility (near Lowville, NY). We are informed that several wind turbines have been erected within the area covered by the image after the photo was taken. Viewers can use the scale to estimate the approximate width cleared for a turbine base. Source: USDA's National Agricultural Imagery Program
