Guyra Shire Council has approved plans for a new wind farm in the Ben Lomond district.

The farm will be built on two neighbouring properties and consist of 12 generating windmills.
A similar wind farm proposed for the Ardglen district near Murrurundi, south of Tamworth, has met with strong opposition from locals.
Guyra Mayor Robyn Jackson says there have been no objections to the Ben Lomond facility.
She says some nearby residents have raised concerns about the farm, but do not object to the concept.
