Second wind power accident in a short time - blades torn apart in Tönsen

On Thursday, a wing was torn off from one of the turbines in the wind farm at Tönsen. This is the second time this has happened in a short time. Now the wind power company is urging people to keep a safety distance of 300 meters.

SWEDEN -- On Thursday, a wing was torn off from one of the turbines in the wind farm at Tönsen. This is the second time this has happened in a short time. Now the wind power company is urging people to keep a safety distance of 300 meters.

It was in mid-July that it was first discovered that the blade on a wind turbine between Åmot and Lingbo in OX 2's wind farm had fallen off. The reason why this happened is not yet clear.

On Thursday, another blade fell on another turbine in the park, this time at Tönsen. Due to the two incidents, the wind power company OX2 TCM has now blocked off the area and informed landowners and others to avoid going within 300 meters of the area.

Do not know what the cause is

During the company's inspection of the turbines on Friday, the wind farm will be closed.

- We have not had time to investigate the reason for this, but we start today. We will send up drones and go into the turbine, says Lars Bryngelsson, CEO of OX2 TCM.

Exactly when the investigation will be completed is currently uncertain. No one should have been injured in any of the accidents.

- I do not know exactly what the cause of the accident is right now so I can not say, says Lars Bryngelsson.
