HELIX — A woman crashed her car at the bottom of a wind turbine outside Helix, and an emergency helicopter rushed her to a hospital. But plenty of questions remain about the crash and the victim.
The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office activity log shows a female at 7:32 a.m. Monday reported she crashed sometime during the night at the bottom of a turbine near Stockman Road and Cory Crossing, Helix. She called the sheriff’s office in Walla Walla County, Washington, and dispatchers relayed information to Umatilla County. An ambulance crew from the Pendleton Fire Department responded, but fire Capt. Dave Baty said a helicopter ambulance from Life Flight took the woman. He said the department had no more information.
