Town Councilman Frederick Seegert chaired the committee with the town's Planning Board to research the issues on generating energy through the use of wind towers. The local law would allow the devices in the agricultural-residential district of the town, but only after the town approves the application.
No one except Seegert spoke on the topic. He said noise, height, locations, bird migration and even ice conditions were addressed in the proposed local law. He also said there are no current applications for the installation of a wind tower in the Town of Hanover.
Board members also reviewed an environmental impact study on the territory outlined in the local law. Supervisor Kathy Tampio said she expects the law to be on the agenda at …
