Bluewater Wind announced Wednesday that it has approval to build two meteorological towers off Rehoboth Beach and New Jersey's coast.
Company President Peter Mandelstam said two other towers were approved for other developers in New Jersey.
Mandelstam said building the weather station allows the company to prepare for construction of an offshore wind farm. He said Bluewater will be able to map weather patterns for the farm's location.
