The Victorian Opposition says the Government is planning to prop up the wind farm industry with an unfair tax.
The Victorian Opposition says the Government is planning to prop up the wind farm industry with an unfair tax.
It says the Government will tax energy consumers to subsidise the wind sector, which has been growing more slowly than expected.
The Opposition's country Victoria spokesman, Phillip Davis, says the Government is going to hurt consumers instead of declaring its wind energy experiment a failure.
"For the average consumer, it may be another $50 a year on top of their bill, but it may even be higher, and for business there would be a very much higher contribution because it would be proportionate to the amount of energy consumed," he said.
