Kevin McGrath in his Manchester Journal cartoon/Jan. 13 queries What's wrong with this picture? What's wrong with Kevin's picture is that the head of Endless Energy responded to my question on height (at the meeting on 9 Jan.) that they are "390 feet." On the other hand, when the Endless Energy rep. talked of them at the first meeting I attended before Christmas, he said they would be 410 feet. I assume but do not aver that the 20-foot difference is the height of the enormous platforms, which would be needed to sustain the physics of these whirring giants.
At the Jan. 9 meeting I heard a total of four different numbers, including one in meters. As we do not speak in meters in this country, I asked the Orton rep. to kindly translate into feet. It would seem fair, when talking of these windmills to always be careful to use the correct height in feet. We don't want anyone to think anyone is trying to flimflam anyone? Right?
