The Norwegian government sees huge potentials in the development of wind power at sea, and has started to promote the windmill parks as part of its green energy bid. Among the projects is a 3000 windmill park in the North Sea. The park will cover a 4200 square kilometre area, NRK reports.

Another windmill park with 7000 turbines is planned by Lyse Energy outside southwest Norway

-I am not against wind turbines, but they should be built on land. The reason is that a massive development of such wind turbines at sea will be negative for fisheries and for shipping, head of the association Erling Skåtøy says.
