Description:
On the floor of the U.S. Senate, Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) calls on Congress to end the production tax credit for wind power, which has been in place since 1992 and is set to expire at the end of the year -- an issue on which Congress could vote as early as this week, by way of an amendment to the Highway bill. Alexander said, "The 'Big Wind' gravy train...should go the way of the $5 billion annual ethanol subsidy, which Congress allowed to expire last year."
