Green energy hypocrisy seen in Berkshires

If the power being generated causes health impacts; is that trade-off worth reducing your collective carbon footprint? Is it better to cause huge health issues to some folks so others can smugly say their power is "green"? And why is hurting folks with windmills to power your Tesla and Wi-fi OK, but cutting a thousand trees down in a state forest along an existing right of way is not OK?

Denmark’s Anti-Wind Problem

Denmark-energy-agency-2016_thumb Local resistance to wind power development is intensifying worldwide and project developers are feeling the heat of angry communities saying ‘no’ to their spinning towers. As policy wonks try to understand the opposition, the wind industry is quick to tout public gaiety in Denmark over operating projects. ‘Giant wind turbines are not wanted in Hartlepool,’ opponents tell Government inspector

Paul Bennett, a member of Seaton Wind Turbine Action Association, said it was ‘futile’ to set aside land on Brenda Road given an overwhelming lack of local support. He told yesterday’s hearing at Hartlepool College of Further Education: “We have a right not to have unwanted industry intrude and trespass into our homes or affect our health. Mixed outcomes as state farmland is given over to energy projects

Around 0.09 per cent of ALRO land – or about 3,695 rai (591 hectares) of a total 41 million rai – has already been used for these undertakings as per NCPO order 31/2560. The order has been criticised by land activists, academics and farmers who see it as an attempt to seize land preserved for landless farmers in order to top up the wealth of energy and mining conglomerates.

Ontario gothic

In Ontario’s perverse hunger for industrial wind turbines, it turns out Chatham-Kent residents must first prove they have been poisoned by the developer, before they may seek justice. By then, of course, the damage will have been done. Recourse will expensive and, for most, unattainable. ...Folks who have fought for years to protect the things our government was supposed to safeguard, have been left gasping in despair. ...This is the horror Kathleen Wynne and Dalton McGuinty have wrought.

Bangert is forecasting a financial loss of more than $100,000 per year whenever the blades power down.

Infrasound from wind turbines is a new signal in the environment

Infrasound-aunio-group-34_2017-1_thumb FINLAND. Aunio Group Oy from Oulu has developed a device for measuring and recording infrasound produced by wind turbines. The measurement equipment can be used to produce research data for investigating the characteristics of infrasound and where it spreads, and to analyze any health problems it may cause. The infrasound produced by wind turbines differs from infra-sounds occurring in nature; according to measurements the infrasound produced by wind turbines is a clear signal - distinguishable from ambient noise in the environment. This paper describes the method of evaluating the Anuio Group's device and the results. The full paper can be accessed by clicking the links on this page.
