Homage To The Flint Hills Art Exhibit

White Gallery on the campus of Butler Community College from Feb. 3 - March 4. An opening reception will be held on February 4 from 3 -6 p.m.

As I See it - 'Wind farms' would jeopardize birds, forests

Juniata Valley Audubon asks concerned residents to contact Gov. Ed Rendell, their senators and representatives and the Department of Environmental Protection to voice their displeasure over the gross waste of almost $400,000 to study a proposal that would cause so much harm to both outdoor recreation and wildlife, and provide only minuscule amounts of expensive, unreliable electricity.

Boost for wind turbines opponents

Campaigners against a proposed windfarm in north Devon are claiming a small victory in preventing the turbines. A report by Devon County Council's environment director says the impact on the environment far outweighs the renewable energy benefits.
