The state of Maine could see more wind projects developed in the coming years after a number of new proposals have been submitted by southern New England states.
Annette Smith, executive director and founder of Vermonters for a Clean Environment, conducted this press conference following notice that the Vermont Attorney General had initiated a criminal investigation into whether Ms. Smith was practicing law without a license. Minutes before the press conference was to begin, Ms. Smith was notified by her attorney, David Sleigh, that the AG had closed his investigation and would not pursue the matter further. Ms. Smith used the opportunity of the press conference to shed light on the problems with renewable energy siting in the state and the difficulties facing members of the public in participating in the process.
Joan Lagerman of Wisconsin explains how wind turbines near her property have produced serious health impacts on her family. WE Energies, a utility in Wisconsin, operates the Blue Sky Green Field facility consisting of 88-turbines across 10,600 acres located between the townships of Calumet and Marshfield in Fond du Lac County and not far from the east shore of Lake Winnebago. Lagerman and her neighbors are surrounded by the 44 towering turbines spinning in Marshfield.

A turbine at Iberdola Renewables Farmers City wind project was destroyed by flame. This short video was taken approximately 30-45 minutes after the fire reportedly started. The 146 megawatt (MW) project is located in Atchison County, in the northwest corner of Missouri. The 73 Gamesa G87 (2.0 MW) turbines were commissioned in 2009.
