The incident on Tuesday followed strong winds in the area, according to local reports.

Enel said in a statement sent to Recharge: “Enel Green Power North America is working with the turbine manufacturer GE, to investigate an incident that occurred Tuesday involving a turbine failure at our Chisholm View 2 wind project in Grant County, Oklahoma.

“There were no injuries as a result of the incident, and its cause remains under investigation at this time. Our first concern, as always, is ensuring the safety of our workers, contractors and the surrounding communities.

“This is an isolated incident. The wind farm continues to generate power while the investigation continues.”

The US OEM said then that it would investigate what it believed to be “an isolated incident”.

GE Renewable Energy referred inquiries to Enel when contacted by Recharge to comment on the latest collapse.
