Sexton, Bailey give support to County on Turbine issue

Tennesseee legislators — Representative. Cameron Sexton and Senator Paul Bailey — are going to bat for Cumberland County … and the Cumberland Mountain Preservation Coalition is back on the move.

Now that Sexton and Bailey are back to work on getting our bill on the Tennessee house floor to stop the Industrial wind farm in Crab Orchard, we need everyone to write our legislators urging them to vote to support the bill.

All of you can make a huge difference by emailing, writing, calling as much as you can in the upcoming weeks ahead.

The louder we ARE, the more they hear us. (Of course keep it civil.)

CMPC outreach program headed by Linda Clark, Sarah Southhall and Mary Kopmeier, are planning a bus trip to Nashville to let our elected leaders know we want this bill passed and this project terminated.

As you are aware, it wasn’t too long ago, when our local elected officials Sexton and Bailey met with our leadership group in Nashville to discuss the Crab Orchard project and how it could be stopped.

State political heavy hitters Beth Harwell, Speaker of the House, and lieutenant governor James Rand  “Randy” McNally III, along with several other key members who are in support of CMPC position were in attendance.

The leadership team also presented them copies of several bills that had passed in Southern States which gave its citizens, wildlife and environment protection from industrial wind farms being built on mountains, ridges and in close proximity to resident’s homes.

A CMPC lobbyist has been busy beating the payment to help clear the way for our bill to hit the floor and he has reported that many legislator’ he talked with are not pleased with the planed invasion of industrial wind turbines here in Tennessee.

Many were pleased to hear that a bill is being introduced to address this problem and the potential decapitation of our grand Tennessee mountains.

To all those who have attended the meetings and fundraiser, we again express our gratitude. A call to arms is needed to help let our legislators know of the importance of getting this bill passed and you can help do that.
