Emergency services are on site and the public has been asked to stay away from the site. In the images  shown of the power plant failure the tower had fallen across a road and broke into several pieces.

What caused the spectacular accident is currently unknown.

"We are investigating the issue right now. I can not answer what has happened," says Peter Zachrisson, President of Stena Renewable who operates the turbine.

Zachrisson also say that winds in the morning were not been so strong to cause the collapse. All turbines at the site will remain off at the Lemnhult park until further notice.

In connection with the wind turbine collapse, hundreds of liters of oil leaked from the turbine. The turbine stands 129 meters high up into the nacelle, thus the center of the propeller. The top of the blade reaches the maximum of 185 meters.

No persons were injured in connection with the case, the company states.
