Constant humming and flickering of wind turbines are devaluing homes and causing untold misery for people living in close proximity to them in the county.

The ongoing plight of frustrated homeowners was discussed when a motion, in the names of Cllr. Michael J O’Ryan, Cllr. Damien Geoghegan, Cllr. Pat Fitzgerald, Cllr. John Pratt, Cllr. Lawrence O’Neill, was passed atWind Mill the Plenary meeting last week.

The motion called on the council to place a moratorium on the granting of any new planning applications for commercial wind farm projects. It also asked the council to agree that it would be premature to grant any new applications prior to the emergence of new national guidelines that are being finalised.
