The land north of 11th Street adjacent to Montgomery Place was approved to be re-zoned, but residents weren't happy with the fact that the developer plans on building a possible 7 hundred units of apartments on the subdivision. The City has recently been trying to build up instead of out to avoid urban sprawl. Resident's concern about the development were mainly traffic issues, but more reports and public consultation on the matter will be released at a meeting in mid March.

After an especially bad year for potholes last season, the City will be throwing another 1 point 6 million dollars towards fixing potholes through 2013. City Council decided to also approve the purchase of some new pothole patching equipment, and a total of 8 crews will be out this spring. Infrastructure Services Manager Mike Gutek says the money was found in a variety of different infrastructure reserves, and there will be no increase in the 2012 budget as a result.
And development permits were issued for the Remai Art Gallery of Saskatchewan. The 4 storey building will begin construction sometime in 2013.
