Pawnee Fire District chief Steven Pixley said they had to call for aid from several fire departments - New Raymer, Pine Bluffs, Wyo., Carpenter, Wyo., and the U.S. Forest Service. About 25 firefighters fought the blaze for nearly 5 hours.
"The wind was a problem, but so were the draws (gullies) that go through the area, where it was hard to get to the fire," Pixley said.
