MEREDITH — An informal presentation on issues related to the proposed installation of wind turbines will take place at the Meredith Town Planning Board at 7 p.m. Monday.
Presenters will highlight siting issues and the need for guidelines that address the impact on the views, setbacks from the road and impacts on soil, water, flora and fauna, according to lawyer Jehed Diamond of Delhi.
The discussion will also include information on health and safety issues such as noise pollution, shadow–flicker effects and ice throws. Diamond said using wind turbines as a more-efficient alternative source will also be addressed.
Information about economic impacts, including a comparison of the tax benefits to both town and county, will be contrasted with the financial benefits to the wind companies. Diamond said advice about how to negotiate with respect to these factors and the impact of turbines on real-estate values …
