A slick presentation
Tri-Cities residents were treated to a slick presentation by Scandia Wind LLC wind farm developers at the Grand Haven High School Performing Arts Center Tuesday night. Developers implored area residents to make decisions based on "facts, not fear." Trouble is, Scandia's presentation was infested with non-facts.

Tri-Cities residents were treated to a slick presentation by Scandia Wind LLC wind farm developers at the Grand Haven High School Performing Arts Center Tuesday night. Developers implored area residents to make decisions based on "facts, not fear." Trouble is, Scandia's presentation was infested with non-facts.
Among the whoppers that need debunking are:
- That wind power does not drive up electric costs.
- That wind farms offer the potential to bring over 3,000 long- term jobs to this area.
- That wind energy is efficient.
- That erecting wind farms will forestall accidents like the Gulf oil spill from happening in the future.
