Des Clarke is absolutely correct to be concerned about the uncontrolled proliferation of commercial wind turbines within Fenland, (Citizen October 14).
Fenland Council say their new policy, (which has taken ten years to formulate) will carefully assess turbine applications on individual merit.
This form of assessment has been supposedly used for the last decade, so to call it new is incorrect and could be viewed as misleading.
I have studied extensively the new policy document on wind turbine development in Fenland, which incidentally cost the council taxpayer £25,000.
The study is a total waste of time, in fact, a developer admitted to me the new policy was a developer's planning dream come true because the content is so contradictory and complex.
Unlike Mr Clarke, I do not see the need for turbines or any of their socalled benefits. They produce silly amounts of energy and cause appalling damage to the environment.
January this year, at a time of high energy demand, national energy output from wind farms was a (massive 6% of capacity) and they call wind power an Alternative Energy?
Fenland Council say they are pioneers in wind energy and cannot understand why others do not follow their example, the answer is simple.
Bordering councils have seen our rural Fenland landscape destroyed and cluttered with this heavy and useless industry and politely declare 'no thanks'.
This 'green window dressing' is causing extensive environmental damage to the British countryside and everything within it, very soon I will expose how our local wildlife environment has been abused and disrupted by those seeking the rewards of political and financial gratification.
