Shame on Otter
As a daughter of an organic farmer in Minidoka, I grew up in a constant battle against big business, big farmers and ranchers, the INEL and anything or anyone else who could hurt our environment, our soil, our water, our animals and wildlife and, in essence, the very thing that I thought Idaho stood for - only to learn that you can never fight and win against people with money, the government or anyone else who only has their own interests at heart, especially if they have political networks on their side.
Shame on you, Gov. Butch Otter, and every other representative for Idaho (including the Fish and Game) who is letting our Fish and Game regional supervisor take this in the backside and then deny that you've even done anything wrong. Don't you advertise for people to move to Idaho because of its wildlife? Why do you, governor, do commercials with the backdrop of eagles, wildlife and green pastures? And why does the governor's office need to OK a government employee's opinion to the editor? This isn't just Fish and Game's problem. This is Idaho's problem but, governor, last I understood you and your cohorts work for me. I may be a small, ignorant, little Idahoan who doesn't know a whole lot about wind farms, the Bureau of Land Management, big ranchers in Idaho getting huge subsidies and tax breaks, but maybe this ordeal with Fish and Game has enlightened me enough to really want to start paying attention to it all.
Bedke and Brackett, be careful about who throws the first stones. We are going to remember who you are come election time. Thanks, David, for the wake-up call!
