2-1 ugly
In that survey, twice as many people said they would find them unacceptable or ugly. That's 2 to 1 against among those who actually had an opinion.

In the Feb. 4 story about the East Haven wind project hearing being reopened, a statewide poll from last January was also reported. The article stated that 81 percent of the 400 random Vermonters surveyed would consider wind turbines on ridge lines beautiful or acceptable. (Size, lights, noise and roads were presumably unmentioned.)
That poll doesn't seem to have been openly released for scrutiny, but if it is like the previous year's, only a small fraction (8 percent in 2004) thought wind turbines on the ridge lines would be "beautiful." In that survey, twice as many people said they would find them unacceptable or ugly. That's 2 to 1 against among those who actually had an opinion.
The poll questions were written by Renewable Energy Vermont, which lobbies for industrial wind development. EnXco and East Haven Wind Farm are represented on its board, and other developers are voting members. As the poll was reported, it was not determined if the respondents would be personally affected by a proposed wind power facility or if they were informed of the arguments for and against wind turbines on the ridge lines.
