Lyman on the move

Lyman has three anti-wind farm petitions on the ballot this year that are most likely going to pass with flying colors. Brian Santy and I gathered signatures and submitted these petitions the same way we did last year. They are the exact same petitions that were on the ballot last year, but they failed to pass because some people mistakenly voted "No." A "no" vote meant you did not want the petitions to pass. For those of you who do not want an industrial wind farm in Lyman, you must vote "yes" on all three petitions. A "yes" vote means you do indeed want the petitions to pass. The Lyman Planning Board recommends passage. (Lisa Linowes and I were present at the planning board hearing. We presented the petitions to the board with a lot of information. The board then voted to recommend passage of all of them and this decision will be reflected on the ballot.) By passing the petitions, it will be extremely difficult (as in practically impossible) to create an industrial wind farm in the town of Lyman. Please be sure to vote, Lyman residents! This is an important one.
Lyman also has a large number of people (maybe even a record) who filed to be on the ballot in March. There are two selectmen's seats up for grabs that no fewer than six people wish to win! And there are three candidates for the position of town clerk/tax collector! I know because I am one of them.
Again, Lyman residents, please vote. You can register the same day, March 14, as the election, or you can contact the supervisors of the checklist for more information on how to vote, or log on to www.sos.nh.gov.
Yes, Lyman's on the move all right and the residents are fired up! Be a part of it!
