Call for wind turbines in Waterbury
It is not true that wind only blows in Vermont's top 12 poorest towns (Sheffield, Lowell, East Haven, Searsburg ...). Waterbury has ridges!

In a recent letter (Jan. 19) Mr. Quinn of Waterbury has misunderstood the vote in Sheffield. Because of state law, only residents can vote, so the opinions of over 144 taxpayers who have signed petitions adamantly opposed to industrializing our ridge lines could not be counted. Taken as a whole, the town of Sheffield does not favor 400-foot wind turbines.
In any case, Mr. Quinn should realize that the vote, restricted as it was ("yes" by a slim margin, 93 to 120) was a non-binding nod to pursue "in principle" a relationship with UPC Wind. If adequate compensations... [continue via Web link]
