State’s low ranking for 'wind' availability should give pause
The statistics did not include ranking of states with available, sustainable wind that makes it possible to produce wind energy. Florida ranks 48th in available, sustainable wind, according to AWEA.
This phenomenal statistic should be included in competent decision-making. In a horse race, would you a bet on the horse ranking 48 in a field of 50?

The Feb. 12 editorial, “Give wind power a fighting chance,” cited American Wind Energy Association statistics naming the top wind energy-producing states, in megawatts.
The statistics did not include ranking of states with available, sustainable wind that makes it possible to produce wind energy. Florida ranks 48th in available, sustainable wind, according to AWEA.
This phenomenal statistic should be included in competent decision-making. In a horse race, would you a bet on the horse ranking 48 in a field of 50?
What if we gave wave power a chance and captured the 8 million gallons (per minute) of water the nuclear power plant discharges into the ocean 24 hours a day, seven days a week? Are there tax credits for this?
