To the tower
But can we respectfully suggest that anyone involved in a decision to put 236 turbines, each 540ft tall, nine miles offshore here, might like to assess the visual impact first.

WE don't expect all our noble lords and ladies to be personally acquainted with the singular delights of Blackpool Tower, let alone to have travelled to the top to look down from the famous "leap of faith".
But Lord Sainsbury of Supermarket Fame (also of Turville), who is perhaps best known for having made a £2m donation to the Labour Party, does have a particular passion for science we're told, so we might expect him to know a thing or two about windfarms. Like their height, for example.
Height in a wind turbine is important, not just for catching the wind but also from an aesthetic point of view.
Lord Sainsbury may also not be personally well acquainted with the delights of the North Wales coast off Llandudno, and may not even care to be. But can we respectfully suggest that anyone involved in a decision to put 236 turbines, each 540ft tall, nine miles offshore here, might like to assess the visual impact first.
Every one of the blighters, for the record, will be higher than Blackpool Tower - as his Lordship now knows.
Perhaps a trip to Blackpool would be a good idea after all.
