March 27, 2013 by Nick Mcdermott in Daily Mail
Energy Secretary insisted households will be better off due to initiatives but families will only benefit if they buy more efficient domestic appliances. Average bill is now £1,267 with £112 of that amount going on green taxes. By 2020 green taxes will have risen by over 150 per cent - £286 per family. Charity said government 'embarrassed by terrifying cost of green policies'. Claimed it is 'covering up' with a 'whitewash of wildly optimistic assumptions'.

The Senate is due to vote again on the newly revised bill, likely Thursday, when attempts could be made to change the bill again before sending it to the House.

Mayor Arno Hill said the allure of "going green" and a fear of rejecting state grant money eventually landed the turbines on the administration building's property.
"These have basically been nonproductive from Day One. We have to live with them for another six or seven years because of the 10-year grant we received. It would have been better to put in high-efficiency lighting; in my opinion, we would have had our return back by now."
A representative with BP Wind Energy met Tuesday with Allen County Commissioners to discuss constructing utility lines in the county to extract energy coming from a future Van Wert County wind farm.
Because power relaying stations in Van Wert County are at capacity, BP Wind Energy Business Developer Roger Brown said the utility is looking to have that wind farm power extracted to Lima.

Thompson said the focus should be on meeting the service needs of all Ontario residents and on protecting the most-affected rural residents, environment and family heritage in the immediate impact area.
"The news is filled with stories about those opposed to wind turbines and those supporting them. It's a never-ending war of opposing forces in many rural communities.''
Thompson said the wars are tearing the rural social fabric to shreds.
Mr Trump threatened legal action to halt the wind test centre. "I built a masterpiece. I don't want to see it destroyed by windmills. Windmills are going to be the death of Scotland and even England if they don't do something about them. They are ruining the countryside," he said.
Dr Sam Gardner, senior climate change policy officer at WWF Scotland, said: "Giving the go-ahead to this offshore wind test centre is the right decision, demonstrating that no amount of bluster from US billionaires such as Donald Trump will hold Scotland back from becoming a cleaner, greener, job-creating nation."
