But she is worried her rides could become dangerous once big tractor rigs and construction trucks start hauling equipment and materials to build Nevada Wind's proposed wind turbine farm on the northern ridges overlooking the valley, north of Spanish Springs.

KS Titan 1, one of two vessels to be used in the construction of 25 wind turbines at Rhyl Flats, was en route to Liverpool Bay from the Gulf of Mexico when the accident happened at the end of October. The building of an offshore windfarm has had to be halted because of bad weather and the sinking of cranes in the Atlantic. It means the Rhyl Flats project will now be delayed by up to three months. Jill Stull from Portage says her life and farm have turned upside down ever since some unwelcome neighbors moved in 2006. "We want the noise to stop. I want my husband to be able to sleep in our home," Stull said. The noise she's referring to is from the six turbines surrounding her 100-acre farm. At least once a week, Stull says she can hear and feel the turbines humming, and it's a sensation she says comes at irregular intervals.

The Scottish Government has overturned a council's rejection of a 22-turbine wind farm in south east Scotland. Scottish Borders Council turned down the PM Renewables development at Drone Hill near Coldingham a year ago. However, the company appealed against that decision and a public inquiry was held in August this year.

Protesters waving placards will greet councillors tonight as they meet to discuss plans for a wind farm at a beauty spot in the Yorkshire Dales. Dozens of objectors are expected at a Craven Council planning meeting which will rule on proposals for five 100ft high turbines at Brightenber Hill, near Stainton Hall, about three miles from Gargrave. The council's planning officers are recommending the plans be approved, despite more than 600 letters of objection and a 720-name petition.

Environment Minister George Webster confirms that a section of line, more than two-kilometres long, is being removed from the Howlan Road, near O'Leary.

A bid to extend a controversial windfarm near a historic Banffshire castle has been criticised by Historic Scotland officials and council planning chiefs. ...Historic Scotland had raised concerns that the two turbines would have a "severe" visual impact on the unoccupied castle. ...The proposed turbine would be some 3,700ft from the castle, while the other two would be closer, around 2,600ft away.

The towers are visible from the back of Milligan's Cavi at The Big Oaks, but he says it's not those power lines that concern him. The restaurateur is bothered by the lines that Southern California Edison will soon install midway down the slope in Bouquet Canyon as part of the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project. The towers would dominate the view from Milligan's backyard bar and grill and he believes they would spoil Bouquet Canyon's rare natural environment.

Jerry McRae didn't mince words when talking about a high-voltage transmission line that will cross his land near here. "You're going to have a hell of a time building a power line in this community," McRae said. ...Construction on the line is scheduled to begin in March.
