"Fifty-five people are going to suffer from this," he said. "They already suffer from the existing turbine and if this goes ahead their problems will increase three-fold."

Councillors in Conwy have voted to refuse planning permission for the development of a windfarm near Cerrigydrudion.
Mwdwl Eithin, situated in the heart of the countryside, was the proposed site of a 12 turbine wind farm by developer Nuon, but at the last planning meeting county councillors decided not to grant the application.
Their decision went against the recommendation of local authority planning officers, but represented the views of the majority of local residents. ..."Wind farms should only be developed when they are supported by local communities.
"Everyone would agree for the need for more sustainable and renewable energy and wind power certainly has a role to play, but there must be sensitivity to the effects of wind farms on local communities and their impact on the countryside, particularly in relation to tourism."

A joint statement was issued by the councils of Poole, Bournemouth, Purbeck and Christchurch in response to the "West of Isle of Wight" wind farm proposal.
It said they were "key stakeholders" representing local people, committed to sustaining the natural environment and working to support local employment and tourism industry.
"We are collectively disappointed that no approach appears to have been made... to either advise us of these plans or seek our views and the views of local residents, partners and businesses.

"Wind farms have their place in providing green energy but Fenland really has done its bit with villages and towns ringed by them. Although this means we may lose out in some income we could not carry on with this after hearing the real concerns of local people."

A couple who live half a mile from the site of a proposed wind farm fear they could be surrounded by turbines after learning of another possible development near their home.
Reg and Tamsin Watson, of Ancroft Southmoor Farm, near Berwick, Northumberland, featured in The Journal last July expressing their dismay at Your Energy's proposal to build 110m structures at Moorsyde - just 700 metres from their property.
Now the couple are facing the prospect of another 10 turbines of 115m on the other side of their home.

A couple forced from their home by noisy wind turbines are prepared to take their fight to the ombudsman.
Jane and Julian Davis moved out of their farm near wind turbines in Deeping St Nicholas in May after months of sleepless nights caused by noise.
And they believe there is no end in sight to the disruption to their lives because South Holland District Council has been dragging its heels investigating the case.
Mrs Davis believes that the council has done nothing to look into the issues of noise at the site since last summer but instead left the investigation in the hands of operator Fenland Windfarms.
She said: "We let them get on with it thinking they were doing something but it turns out they weren't.
"Even in the full knowledge that we were driven out of our home they still did nothing.
"I absolutely hit the roof when I found out."
Jane and Julian Davis left their Deeping St Nicholas home at Christmas 2006 after months of sleepless nights due to noise and vibration from the turbines, which are less than 1km from their house.
However, there is a way forward at last after complaints to the Local Government Ombudsman over the handling of their issue by South Holland District Council, and monitoring of noise levels will now take place once more to establish the extent of the issue.
Mrs Davis said: "Now we start all over again - but at last it is being accepted there are issues.

July 21, 2012 by Julian Whittle in Cumberland Times
"We are not against genuinely small-scale, well-sited wind turbines, which do not harm the local amenity and supply energy to a farm or premises.
"What we are against is the inappropriate siting of large turbines where they adversely affect landscape and blight the lives of people who live nearby."

Plans by Lewis Windpower for a wind farm at Barvas Moor in Lewis have been refused consent on the grounds of incompatibility with European law.
Ministers have concluded that the proposed 181 turbine Lewis Wind Farm would have a serious impact on the Lewis Peatlands Special Protection Area, which is designated under the EC Birds Directive and protected under the EC Habitats Directive. ..."European legislation requires a specific procedure to be followed when proposals which could potentially affect Special Protection Areas come forward. I considered all the relevant issues and concluded it would not be possible to approve this application.

She said: "This result is excellent for everybody who has had their lives devastated by noise, both audible and low frequency, from wind farms.
"I think it's a very fair result and the tribunal was well aware it was being asked to make a national precedent.
"This is one battle won but there's still the rest of the war to go."

January 12, 2012 by Philippa Jenkins in North Devon Journal
January 12, 2012 by Philippa Jenkins in North Devon Journal
Nick Williams said he and other residents were suffering increased stress levels because of delays in officially commissioning the site.
The delay meant that complaints about the noise could not be officially investigated.
Until the wind farm is officially commissioned, the environmental health team at North Devon Council said it was not legally allowed to carry out noise checks.
